Dear Parents:
Whenever a school cancellation, late opening or early dismissal is necessary, the Superintendent’s Office will make every effort to contact area radio and television stations as soon as possible. The radio and television stations designated to make the announcements for the East Hampton School System include WTIC (1080 AM), WMRD (1150 AM), WFSB Channel 3, WTNH Channel 8 and WVIT Channel 30.
As you know, we have invested in a system called AlertNow which is an emergency contact system. This system will allow us to send out a message to your home, cell, and work phones letting you know that there is a school closing, early closing, or emergency such as a lockdown. You will receive a letter regarding this system and a test call that we will be conducting. We hope that this added communication will be helpful to you.

EARLY DISMISSAL
A decision to close school early will be made by 10:00 a.m. In the event of an early closing, students attending the morning kindergarten session will be dismissed at 10:55 a.m. All afternoon kindergarten classes will be cancelled.

If school is cancelled or closed early, all after-school community activities are also cancelled. All extra-curricular school activities in all schools will be cancelled except upon approval of the Superintendent of Schools.
