Sears Park

Sears Park is located at 68 North Main Street, East Hampton, CT. It is the Town of East Hampton's only municipal park. Situated on Lake Pocotopaug the park was IMGP0279.jpgdonated to the Town in 1910 by the Sears family. Between 1995 and 2005 the Town acquired the three adjacent properties to the north, expanding the park to approximately 3 acres.

2010 Sticker Information
Residents of East Hampton may purchase Sears Park Stickers for the 2010 season beginning on April 5, 2010. Stickers are sold at the Parks and Recreation Department, the Public Library, the Police Department and the Town Clerk Office. The hours of operation vary by department, this information is available on their web pages. Vehicle and watercraft registrations showing proof of residency must be presented when purchasing stickers. Please be sure to bring these documents with you.

$5.00 Day Pass, available at the Gatehouse in Sears Park (residents only)

Hours of Operation
April: 7:00AM – 8:00PM
May through August: 7:00AM – 8:30PM
September and off season: 7:00AM – 8:00PM

Concessions:
June 22 through August 14, 2009 from 10:00AM until 5:00PM

Rules and Regulations
Vehicle stickers must be adhered to the inside, on the driver's side windshield.
Boats and watercraft stickers must be placed on the right (starboard) side of the boat.
Sears Park stickers are not transferrable.
Children under the age of 13 must be supervised by an adult.
Please obey the 10 mph speed limit.
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the park at any time
3 strikes and you are out rule: Anyone asked to leave Sears Park by park personnel because of inappropriate behavior or language or for breaking park rules, will receive a strike. If this occurs on 3 occasions will be permanently barred from the confines of Sears Park.
Swimming is permitted in designated areas only.  No swimming permitted in the boat launch area.
Flotation devices of any kind are prohibited.  This includes arm bands, rafts, and floats.
Fishing is not allowed in the swim area.
Please park in an orderly fashion to accommodate other vehicles and boat trailers.
Owners are responsible for clean up of waste from their pets.  All pets must be leashed and are not allowed on the beach or in the water.  

Staff
The Park Supervisor is on duty during the summer season to oversee park staff and operations.
Lifeguards are on duty daily from June 28 until August 16, 2008 from 10:00AM to 6:00PM - UNLESS POSTED NO GUARDS ON DUTY
Park Attendants are on duty during the summer season to check for park stickers and assist park patrons.
Sears Park Camp Staff is in charge of the eight week day camp that is run out of the Sears Park Pavilion during the week.

Facilities
Sears Park Pavilion
The Pavilion is an enclosed seasonal structure that has a great room, concession stand, camp office and rest rooms. Residents of East Hampton can rent the great room for private gatherings during the months of May through September. To reserve the pavilion you will need to fill out this form and return it to the Parks and Recreation office.  

Sear Park Picnic Shelter
The Picnic Shelter was constructed and donated to the Town by the East Hampton Lion's Club in 2004. Patrons of Sears Park may use the Picnic Shelter when it is not reserved. The picnic shelter can be reserved for private gatherings.

Air Line State Park Trail
The trail head is located on Smith Street, East Hampton, CT at Cranberry Bog. This linear trail stretches 13 miles east through the towns of Colchester, Hebron and Lebanon. Trail maps and guides are available at any of these town's parks and recreation departments.

State Law requires that pets are leashed and owners must clean up after their dogs.
Motorized recreational vehicles are prohibited.
