14.1 - Location
No building or structure shall be used for the sale, exchange, storage for the purpose of sale or exchange, retail or wholesale, of alcoholic beverages if such building is located:
1. Within five hundred (500') feet of a church, school or other institution for the purpose of caring for children, hospital, or charitable institution, public or private.
2. In any residential zone.
This distance shall be measured as a straight line from any entrance of either building.
14.2 - Exceptions
1. Grocery stores - Stores chiefly engaged in the sale of groceries, which have a permit to sell beer, shall not be regarded as selling or storing alcoholic beverages for the purpose of the distance requirement in Section 14.1
2. Sale of alcoholic beverages may be allowed in any zone under a temporary, charitable or organization permit, for a period not to exceed fifteen (15) days, only when specifically approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
