For the purposes of promoting the health, safety, convenience and general welfare of the community; for the purpose of lessening congestion in the street's; for the purpose of providing adequate light and air; for the purpose of preventing the overcrowding of land; to avoid undue concentration of population and to facilitate the adequate provisions for transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks and other public requirements. For the purpose of conserving the value of buildings and encouraging affordable housing and the most appropriate use of land throughout the Town. For the purpose of protecting existing and potential public surface and ground drinking water supplies and to provide proper provisions for soil erosion and sediment control. For the purpose of regulating and restricting the location and use of buildings, structures and land for trade, industry, residence or other purposes; for the purpose of regulating the height and bulk of buildings hereafter erected; for
the purpose of determining and regulating the area of lots, yards, courts and open spaces hereafter established; by authority conferred by Chapter 124 of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended and supplemented, the Zoning Regulations of the Town of East Hampton are hereby amended and supplemented as follows.
