Duties and Responsibilities
The Collector of Revenue Office is responsible for the collection of Real Estate Tax, Motor Vehicle Tax, Personal Property Tax as well as Sewer Assessment and Use fees for properties connected to the Sewer System.
Real Estate Tax and Personal Property Tax of $100. or less are due and payable July 1st
Real Estate Tax and Personal Property Tax over $100. are due and payable in two installments. The first installment is due July 1st and the second installment is due January 1st.
Motor Vehicle Tax is due and payable on July 1st.
Supplemental Motor Vehicle Tax is due and payable on January 1st.
Taxes may be paid online using an ACH payment, VISA, Mastercard or Discover. See Online Tax/Payments link on the Town web page. Sewer use payments cannot be paid using these options at this time. There are fees associated with the online payment option. ACH .50 per transaction, 3% on credit cards and $3.95 on debit cards.
All Sewer Assessment accounts are severely delinquent and due and payable now. Call for payoff amounts.
Sewer Use fees are due and payable on October 1st.
There is a 30-day grace period from the due date before the tax or fee becomes delinquent and interest charges apply.

We not only collect tax dollars, but also sewer assessment fees and sewer use fees.
There are 5,979 real estate tax bills, 14,153 motor vehicles tax bills, 986 personal property tax bills and 2,676 sewer use bills.
We are in constant touch with approximately 160 banks/mortgaging institutions which collect approximately 2,800 real estate tax bills in escrow.
